JP54
  • JP54, short for Jet Propulsion, Colonial Grade 54, is a type of aviation kerosene used in gas-turbine aircraft engines. It is a specific variant of jet fuel, exported from countries like Russia, with properties similar to the internationally standardized Jet A-1 fuel but with some technical differences
EN590
The EN 590 had been introduced along with the European emission standards. With each of its revisions the EN 590 had been adapted to lower the Sulphur content of diesel fuel – since 2007 this is called ultra low Sulphur diesel as the former function of Sulphur as a lubricant is absent (and needs to be replaced by additives).
D6 Diesel
"D6 diesel" is a common name for Residual Fuel Oil (RFO), also known as Bunker Fuel or Bunker C, a heavy, high-viscosity fuel derived from crude oil distillation residue. Due to its thick consistency, it must be preheated before use in large industrial applications like power plants, industrial furnaces, and large marine engines. It is distinct from the lighter diesel fuels used in most cars and trucks, which have different specifications.

JET FUEL
JET A-1, Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), aviation fuel, jet fuel, jet fuel is a type of aviation fuel designed for use in aircraft powered by gas turbine engines, as distinguished from avgas, used in piston engine aircraft. It is colorless to straw-colored in appearance. The most commonly used fuels for commercial aviation are Jet A and Jet A-1 which are produced to a standardized international specification. The only other jet fuel commonly used in turbine-engine civil aviation is Jet B, which is used to improve its cold performance.
Crude Oil
Crude oil, or petroleum, is a naturally occurring, raw liquid mixture of hydrocarbons and other organic materials found in underground reservoirs, formed from the remains of ancient plants and animals over millions of years under intense heat and pressure. It is a vital fossil fuel and a foundational resource for the global economy, refined into essential products like gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, lubricants, and petrochemicals that power transportation, industries, and everyday life.
Pet Coke
Petroleum coke, abbreviated coke "pet coke", is a final carbon-rich solid material that derives from oil refining, and is one type of the group of fuels referred to as cokes. Petcoke is the coke that, in particular, derives from a final cracking process—a thermo-based chemical engineering process that splits long chain hydrocarbons of petroleum into shorter chains—that takes place in units termed coker units. (Other types of coke are derived from coal.) Stated succinctly, coke is the «carbonization product of high-boiling hydrocarbon fractions obtained in petroleum processing (heavy residues)»
Mazut
Mazut is a viscous, heavy residual fuel oil, a low-quality byproduct of crude oil refining, primarily used in power plants and industrial furnaces for heat and electricity generation, especially in countries like Russia/Ukraine and us from the former Soviet Union. It is a high-energy, cost-effective fuel but is often blended or cracked into lighter fuels like diesel in Western countries, and its sulfur content is a key factor in its quality.
LNG
LNG is liquefied natural gas, a fossil fuel that is cooled to a liquid state for easier and safer storage and transport. By reducing its temperature to approximately -162°C (-260°F), its volume is shrunk by a factor of 600. This process allows natural gas to be shipped efficiently across oceans to global markets without the need for pipelines.
LPG
LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is a flammable hydrocarbon fuel consisting primarily of propane and butane, produced during oil refining or natural gas processing. Stored as a liquid under pressure, it is used for cooking, heating, industrial processes, and as a fuel for vehicles.

Basin Modelling
Prospecting for new oil reserves is a complex and high-cost endeavor, even when it involves traditional resources. The cost of geological prospecting operations and the cost of mistakes are higher still when investigating previously un-researched, inaccessible regions. Much of this uncertainty can be eliminated prior to commencing fieldwork through the process of basin modeling. Through this technology, on the basis of all information available on the geology of a region, mathematical and analytical methodologies are used to recreate the processes through which geological strata have been formed — and how they have been changed — meaning that areas with hydrocarbon accumulations can be laid bare.

Rotary Steerable Systems (RSS)

The construction of high-technology wells demands a range of specialist equipment. The basis for modern, effective, precise and safe drilling these days lies in rotary steerable systems (RSS). RSSs make possible the drilling of both perfect deflection angle wells with along-hole-displacement of less than 0.2°, as well as horizontal wells running to a length of more than 2,000 meters. Utilizing RSS makes possible the construction of extreme reach wells, as well as the high-precision drilling of wells in low-concentration reservoirs (one to two meters thick).

Remote Controlled Drilling

System Oil KZ "SOOWZ" Drilling Support Centre was established specifically to improve effectiveness in the construction of high-technology wells. Its work is predominantly based around geo-steering technology, which involves obtaining information on the geological model of a field in real time, with adjustments made to the well trajectory in line with this. The use of cutting-edge technologies, including telecommunications technologies, allows data to be transferred to the Drilling Support Centre in real time, during drilling. Updated information is displayed on the existing geological model of the field, with actual data compared against projected data, analyzed, and, if necessary, the well trajectory corrected on that basis in order to fall within the target zone.

During your placement, you will be working in one of the Company's departments, side by side with our experienced staff. On-the-job training will provide practical knowledge and experience and improve your professional qualifications for further career development.

  • Practical experience will be undertaken during the placement at System Oil KZ "SOOWZ". The placement will be within one of the departments of the business.
  • Students from Kazakhstan-based Universities who are citizens of Kazakhstan, 18 years or older, are eligible for placement under the System Oil KZ "SOOWZ" student placement procedure.
  • The placement period for students in their last two academic years is one month, and for pre-graduate students, this can be extended for a further month if the theme of the Diploma work is connected with any Kazakhstan state project.
  • System Oil KZ "SOOWZ" will consider candidates who have an average mark of no less than four (4) for their entire study period.
  • System Oil KZ "SOOWZ" reserves the right to choose the best students according to study and interview results.
  • The number of positions is defined by the requirements of the various System Oil KZ "SOOWZ" departments.
On all matters concerning student placement within System Oil KZ "SOOWZ", students should apply to the Dean's Office or the representative responsible for student placement in their educational institution.
